Who this is

Uriah the Hittite was one of David's elite soldiers, married to Bathsheba, and after David got Bathsheba pregnant while Uriah was away at war, David tried repeatedly to get Uriah to sleep with his own wife to cover up the affair. Uriah refused out of loyalty to his fellow soldiers still in the field, so David had him placed at the front of the fiercest fighting and then abandoned there, engineering his death.
