Who this is

Zephath was a Canaanite town that the tribes of Judah and Simeon captured and destroyed, renaming it Hormah, "devotion to destruction," after which the name Zephath drops from the biblical record (Judges 1:17). The same city had earlier repelled an unauthorized Israelite attack during the wilderness wandering (Numbers 14:45). Its site is usually placed near Tell es-Seba or Tell el-Meshash in the northern Negev, though the exact identification remains debated among archaeologists.
