A son of Ashhur, the Calebite clan chief remembered as the founder of Tekoa, by his wife Helah (1 Chronicles 4:5-7). He appears only in this genealogical list, alongside his brothers Zohar and Ethnan; Tekoa later became the hometown of the prophet Amos.
